Accessibility

Our commitment to an inclusive digital experience

Nomade Real Estate is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about Connecticut real estate, and we continually work to improve the usability and accessibility of our digital experience.

Our Commitment

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we are dedicated to continuously reviewing and improving our website to meet or exceed these standards.

What We Are Doing

We have taken the following measures to support accessibility on our website:

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements and document structure to ensure content is logically organized and can be interpreted correctly by assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements on our website -- including navigation menus, forms, buttons, and property listings -- are designed to be fully operable using a keyboard alone.
  • Screen Reader Support: We provide descriptive alternative text for images, meaningful link text, and appropriate ARIA labels to ensure content is conveyed accurately to screen reader users.
  • Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background colors throughout the site to ensure readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies.
  • Responsive Design: Our website is designed to be usable across a range of devices and screen sizes, supporting zoom and text scaling without loss of content or functionality.
  • Form Accessibility: All forms include visible labels, clear error messages, and logical tab order to assist users who rely on assistive technology.

Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Some property images sourced from MLS data may have limited or generic alternative text descriptions.
  • Embedded third-party content such as virtual tours or map widgets may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Older PDF documents, such as historical market reports, may not be fully accessible to screen readers.

We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome your feedback to help us prioritize improvements.

How to Report Issues

If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have difficulty accessing any part of our website, we want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement and ensures we can better serve all of our visitors.

When reporting an issue, it is helpful to include:

  • A description of the issue and the page where you encountered it
