The Green
Guilfords town green is one of the largest in New England — a sprawling expanse of grass surrounded by white clapboard churches, independent shops, and restaurants. On summer Saturdays the farmers market takes over, and in December the green glows with luminaries for the holidays.
Real Estate
Guilford offers everything from modest ranch homes in the $350,000 range to waterfront estates above $2 million on Sachem Head or Indian Cove. The historic district near the green commands premium prices for antique homes with original wide-plank floors and working fireplaces.
Schools and Community
Guilford public schools consistently rank in the states top 20. The community is active: youth sports leagues, a vibrant arts scene at the Guilford Art Center, and waterfront parks at Jacobs Beach and Chaffinch Island make it an ideal family town.
